Four Ways to Keep Yourself Motivated to Workout

Do you ever find yourself starting a workout program strong and then a few weeks into it, you start coming up with excuses to not workout? Let’s face the truth if it were easy to stay motivated we would all have rock hard abs.

Here are a few tips to help you stay motivated to reach your workout goals:

  1. Access your personal power. Each one of us holds so much energy inside we just need a little push and direction to get us on the right path.

  2. Cultivate a strong relationship with yourself and make your fitness a first priority. Plan your workouts or hire a trainer to push you in the right direction.  Ask yourself what you need today. Do you need a run? How about a strong weightlifting session or just some yoga poses to relieve tension and get more focused. Pilates for back pain?  Strive to make self care a priority. Tailor your workouts to fit your mood and needs. Find sports and activities that you enjoy, it doesn’t have to be boring.

  3. Write down your goals and look at your list often.  Find ways to look at the long term plan. It helps when you are not feeling so motivated. So if you are training for that 5K visualize crossing the finish line.

  4. Have a killer playlist ready to go. Music is a great motivator to get you moving and grooving. Listen to artists who inspire you to move.
