Good Things Come to Those Who Sweat – Part 3

Hello friends, and welcome! I hope this finds you all in good health and happiness after the Thanksgiving holiday! My blog this week comes at a good time. The holidays are officially in full swing, and treats sweet and savory are abound! You can’t avoid it, someone at your office is going to bring in a basket of delicious baked goods that you only see once a year; another person will bring in their favorite buffalo chicken dip to tempt you with…and then there are the parties and pot lucks! Oy vey! I believe that everything in moderation is always a good rule to abide by, especially at times like these. Everyone is in good spirits, and we are naturally...

How to Remedy the Wretched Food Coma

The holidays are vastly approaching, and we all know what that means: parties filled with loving family, amazing friends and, of course, let’s not forget the food coma that comes along with any Thanksgiving celebration. No holiday would be complete without a mouthwatering butterball, creamy mashed potatoes, freshly baked bread, pumpkin pie with homemade whip cream, and the champagne to celebrate. Mmmm, I can taste all the calories packing on right now just thinking about it! So, how does one celebrate with family and friends without packing on the pounds? One way to stop the Thanksgiving gain is to take part in a pre-Thanksgiving workout before indulging on homemade snacks and pies. Interval training, a workout that alternates periods of...

Good Things Come to Those who Sweat – Part 2

Hello friends, and welcome! Last week I started a (several week long) series where I wrote about exercise and it’s health benefits. We began with the ways that it can help you mentally. I enjoyed learning more about the things that I already naturally feel when I exercise, and I hope you did as well! This week I would like to add on to that by diving into the physical and more importantly, medical health benefits you can obtain. We all know by now that exercise can help you feel better, boost your self esteem and relax you from the stresses you experience in every day life, but what can it do to assist in sustaining your life physically? Obesity...

Good Things Come to Those Who Sweat

Hello friends. This week (and over the next few weeks) I have decided to write about something that I have personally been wanting to know more about. Even though I do my best to eat healthy and educate myself about how to do so, the other half of that, exercising, has always eluded me a bit. I have never known much about it, how to do it, or what the benefits of each type of exercise are. I have also not really been one of those people who just naturally LOVES working out, believe it or not! Because of this, sometimes it’s tough for me to get motivated to get my body moving outside of my normal routine. I have...

Feeding Your Skin

Hello friends! For this week’s blog, I decided to take a suggestion from one of our staff. I love welcoming the ideas of others, as I think it’s important to be writing about subjects people want to hear about. Since I have mainly been focusing on medically minded foods and diet over the last month or so, I decided that writing about foods which are beneficial for your skin and beauty would be a perfect transition. When many of us are choosing our diet and the foods we eat, we often tend to focus on what will affect our physical appearance regarding weight and shape. I would be willing to bet that most of us don’t think about how what...
