February Overland Park Sports Highlights from The Athletic Club

February Overland Park Sports Highlights from The Athletic Club:

February is the month of love! Are you loving your new year so far? Are your healthy habits sticking and results appearing? This month is the determining time if you will stick with something for a while or if bad habits will creep back in. Stay calm and press on.

February at the athletic club is my favorite month! As ambassador of Women’s court sports, I adore any time women have the chance to shine as athletes. February 21-23 is the Winter Classic Tournament/Women’s Pro IRT. Paola Longoria, Rhonda Rajsich, Samantha Salas and the top 20 players in the world will be playing on our courts! 3 days of fast paced, hard hitting professional level play makes this month one for the books. All are welcome to come watch these amazing athletes display their diligent training and phenomenal physical conditioning. The Winter Classic is open to all levels of players, men and women. There are divisions from C (lower level players) to open and pro. Registration is coming soon- check the website for info on registering for this fun event.

Many women of all ages have reacquainted themselves with the sport of racquetball through the women’s racquetball clinics. Lucy Del Sarto, former professional racquetball player, hosts these 5 week clinics. During the 60 minute instructional sessions basic rules, shots, serves, and court positioning are taught and drills given to practice and improve skill. Players of similar ability grow together while having a fun time of competition and fitness. There are co-ed leagues and individual lessons available as well. For more information please contact me– Sarrisa Haley @ 913-209-6663 or Lucy Del Sarto @ 913-709-6059.

2014 is rolling right along. Leagues are in session for Volleyball, Racquetball, and Handball. Walk-on times for Badminton, Table Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Junior Handball are all available.

There are many ways to fall in love with fitness. Consider learning and playing a sport. Call me to find out how warm and fuzzy it can be to meet new people and try new things. I’ll look forward to talking with you!
