What: A 3-wall outdoor handball tournament for people who have never played the sport. Handball is similar to racquetball, but much more awesome. The only equipment required are gloves, goggles, and complete and total stubbornness. (We’ll provide the gear, you bring the stubbornness)
When: June 7th. We will do the blind draw Friday the night before. Feel free to come out then for pizza, drinks, and an intro to the 3-wall outdoor handball court. Bracket play Saturday, Finals on Sunday if needed.
Where: At the Kansas City Athletic Club. 845 Armstrong, Kansas City, KS. The greatest 3-wall outdoor handball facility in the world. Seriously, try to find a better one.
Who: Only people who have never played the sport of handball are invited. Men only, preferably over 21. If not, must be able to tolerate drinking, swearing, and generally boorish and obnoxious behavior. There will be an Alumni division for past WimbleDottes and newish players who have begun playing since the first WimbleDotte.
WHY: To try an exciting sport where the rule is that the competition is at the same skill level. Still not convinced? Fine. We’ll have beer, food, and even T-shirts- all of this for only $20 entry fee. If you were referred by a KCAC member, ask them to sponsor your entry.
HOW: Return this form completed to Nick Scherzer, Tom Little, Ryan Duckers, or Tony Orel; or whoever showed this to you. Call Nick with questions @ 913-707-0957. Entries no longer accepted after June 4th. After your entry is received, we’ll communicate tournament details through your email.
HELP: This tournament budget is run on our good looks. Shockingly, that doesn’t get us a whole lot. If you are a handball supporter in Kansas City and would like to see it thrive, consider donating to the WimbleDotte so we can continue to share this great game with our friends.
