The Athletic Club of Overland Park members have access to a multitude of fitness facilities, including a cardio theater, cycle room, boxing station, weight training circuit, lap pool, indoor track, gymnasium, free weight room, and plyometrics area.
The cardio facility is complete with more than 30 pieces of cardiovascular equipment and 10 HDTVs. The equipment lineup includes treadmills, elliptical machines, stair steppers / stair climbers, stationary bikes, recumbent bikes, free weights, and mats. Even during peak hours, members rarely have to wait for a machine. Each machine has a local radio and cable TV receiver to plug-in with your earphones.
25-Meter Lap Pool
The Athletic Club members enjoy a heated, 25-meter, 4-lane swimming pool all year around. The hot tub and pool create an outdoor oasis for sunbathers and swimmers alike. During the colder months, the pool is covered by a state-of-the-art climate-controlled dome. Swimming is a low impact, total body workout that people of all fitness levels can enjoy. Lessons and group fitness aquatics classes are available.
The professionally sized basketball gymnasium hosts 6 days of pick up basketball a week as well as organized table tennis, badminton, and pickleball. All sports have reserved times in the gym – just show up and play! Outside of reserved times, there is availability for members to make private reservations for their sport of choice.
A 1/16 of a mile indoor track has a specially designed low-impact, surface. As you run, enjoy the 2nd story view of the weight circuit area and gymnasium. The track can be used year around as your staple exercise routine, or part of an interval training program.
Weight Training Circuit
The Athletic Club has a complete line of Cybex circuit machines and Maxicam circuit machines. The Maxicam line of machines fit the female body. Where machines can be so big and bulky and hard for females to utilize, Maxicams are shortened for a smaller frame. With butt blasters, thigh isolation, five stage abdominal flattener, and more, men utilize them all day long because they are excellent equipment, but their uniqueness is they are made to fit the female body.
For a full-body workout that combines cardio and strength training, practice power punching, quick muscle movements, and forceful kicks. Complete with 5 heavy bags and complimentary gloves, the boxing station is where beginner and advanced boxers alike can take advantage of the kickboxing classes or work out solo.
No muscle will go un-worked in this room! Have your pick at ten thousand pounds of free weights, hip sleds, squat racks, multi purpose station, functional trainers, fit bands, fit balls, and an ab station.
Plyometrics and Suspension Training Zone
Step outside the box with use of kettle bells, medicine balls, slam balls, plyometric boxes, power conditioning ropes (heavy ropes), free weights, body bars, resistance bands, foam rollers, bosu balance trainers, and fit balls.
You’ll never be without a seat on one of the two dozen Kaiser M3 spin bikes. Severlal cycle classes ranging from 30 to 90 minutes long are offered each day. Cycling is known to melt body fat like butter on a stove. Spinning gets quick results. The room is always open outside of regularly scheduled classes.
Locker Room and Saunas
Relax after your workout with fully serviced locker rooms: towel service, toiletries (hairspray, mouth wash, body soap, etc), full time housekeeping, lounge, private dry and wet sauna, hot tub, showers, and a cold plunge (men’s locker room).
