I became a corporate member at Kansas City gym, The Athletic Club two years ago and I feel great. In my spare time I officiate college and high school basketball, which requires giving everything I have to the game each and every night. Although I’ve always been in good shape, over the years I had gained weight and was not able to take those extra pounds off. What I really needed to do was get out of my comfort zone.
Laura and Trish tried for over a year to get me in spinning and muscle work classes, and finally I relented. Once I started to attend class it helped to keep me on a regular schedule and added accountability.
Finally I noticed that I was losing weight! Since March of this year I have lost 15 lbs and now I have more energy and a more positive attitude. This really surprised me because I thought I knew what I had this exercise thing down. Thanks Trish and Laura!
I enjoy the friendly staff and the family atmosphere. The people there always have a smile on their faces. I like the fact that the employees go out of their way to get to know you on a first name basis. It makes me feel important and like I am more than just a member. Carl, one of the Personal Trainers is awesome. He has a wonderful attitude, asks how I am doing and is always willing to help. There are plenty of weights and work stations and the men’s locker room is always clean.
Gym time is my “me” time, something which gets forgotten because life is so busy. Exercise makes me feel good and helps to take the stress out of the work day and I sleep much better at night. Positive results from my doctor help keep me motivated to visit the gym.
The results are in and I feel better than ever because they care enough to keep me focused on the task at hand. Thanks for all you help and making me feel like I am a part of the team.
