Overland Park Basketball Sports Highlight:
Happy December- a month filled with festivities, family and food! For many this time is laden with parties, traveling, and anything but normal schedules. If you have been working hard to establish a workout and nutrition routine- it can throw a huge wrench in the plan.
This year when laying out your calendar consider setting aside 1-2 times a week to do something for your body- something out of the norm and different from your routine. The Athletic Club has something fun going on over the lunch hour and evenings during the week.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday noon hour hosts a devoted group for Men’s Basketball 12-1pm. This group plays competitively and is open to anyone who wants to join in the action.
Monday evenings welcomes Ladies Pick-up Basketball. Join the group on Meet-Ups for weekly reminders and to see who is planning to attend that week.
Tuesday, Thursday evenings opens the gym for more Men’s Basketball from 5-7pm. Table tennis moves in to close out the night from 7-9pm
Badminton Open gym times are Friday evening from 6-9pm, Saturday mornings from 10am-2pm and Sunday 2-7pm. This high skill level group is always looking for fresh players to build their group.
Sunday afternoon the courts fill up with Junior and Women’s Handball clinic. Learn this challenging and physical game, play in scrimmages and meet fun people looking to increase their health and fitness. 2-3:30pm
For specialty training in Racquetball, check out the Beginner Clinic ($) run by club Pro Lucy DelSarto. Her vibrant love for the sport and decades of experience are sure to improve skills and lay strong foundations for a solid performance in any setting. And her contagious positive attitude is a wonderful breath of fresh air in the middle of the work week.
