When I say the word Racquetball do you picture a man wearing a sweatband and matching socks? Well women play too, and we’re proud to say there’s a racquetball clinic in Kansas City designed solely for the ladies. It’s a fun sport, and a great way to get active, but for some reason some people may be reluctant to join in and play. Have you seen the movie Along Came Polly with Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller? It’s a charming love story, but there’s an amusing scene where Ben Stiller is invited to play a game of racquetball with his overzealous boss. Needless to say, Mr. Stiller may have enjoyed himself a little more if he had been paired with someone of the same skill level.
Our racquetball coach, the phenomenal Lucy Delsarto knows it’s hard to have fun when you’re playing someone that’s not on the same level. Luckily, she’s developed a racquetball clinic in Kansas City that pairs players in a way that evens out the playing field, and she really knows her stuff. As a world-class athlete Lucy has played racquetball for over twenty-five years. Formerly ranked in the top 20 on the Pro Circuit, she held the Women’s Singles Open Title for the state of Kansas since 1999, and also competes with the guys. Only as a close second to the game itself, is Lucy’s love of teaching. She wants everyone to enjoy the game while reliving stress and taking steps to achieving better personal wellness.
You should also know that this is a game that lasts a lifetime.
