Welcoming in the New Year, 2018, is here to shake up your routines and habits. For most of the world, resolutions and dedications are made for better eating, better sleeping, fitness goals and overall betterment of the self! Before hopping on the resolution hype train, take some time to reflect on 2017. December alone can be a stressful time balancing personal time, family & friends’ events, shopping trips, decorative planning, etc! Reset the body and mind before charging towards your 2018 goals.
Reflect on the goals you accomplished and recognize all your efforts to meet your goals! Encourage yourself with truth and give thanks. Admit your flaws but perceive them as an opportunity to be observant of your strengths and weaknesses. Audit your current habits and the ones you wish to transform for your betterment. Remind yourself of your desires. Instead of focusing on faults to fix, ease your way to re-centering your mind, body and spirit.
Goals, not Resolutions:
Small goals are more likely to be attained than an overall lifestyle change. Achieving your small goals will encourage you to meet the next goal and then the next! If your goal is to eat healthier in 2018, start with auditing your current diet. Start counting your calories on your current eating habits and reflect on those numbers. Reflect and re-evaluate your goals to match your desires. Be realistic and don’t set yourself up for failure.
Take five minutes each day to boost yourself with positive mantras. Reframe your negative thoughts to stay focused on your strengths.
