Join us on Sunday, December 11 from 1pm-5pm at the Athletic Club of Overland Park for Self Defense 101 taught by Sergeant Humphrey. This class is a great introduction to learn what to do if you and your loved ones are ever placed in harm’s way, or a great time to brush up on old skills! This class will emphasize the realities of violent encounters, attack prevention, and simple but effective self defense techniques lead by Shannon Humphrey. Both males and females of all ages will benefit from the knowledge and skills gained during this 4 hour workshop!
Shannon is a Sergeant at the Blue Springs Police Department. He is a Marine Corps Infantry combat veteran, a generalist instructor for the Blue River Police Academy, and specializes in defensive tactics, firearms, and emergency vehicle operation. He is an instructor for the Blue Springs Police Department in firearms and patrol tactics and the lead tactical instructor for the Blue Springs Tactical Team. He is a certified Firearms, Response to Resistance, and Police Generalist instructor. He has a martial arts background in Muay Thai, Aikido, Jui Jitsu and Judo.
