Success in Overland Park Group Fitness and Weight Loss

I found the motivation to get fit after having a personal health assessment and landing smack dab in the obese category. I have exercised my entire life: weights, Overland park group fitness, and kickboxing; however, as I had gotten older my workout intensity was – to put it mildly – soft. Throw in two to three Mountain Dews a day and you get middle-aged and over-weight.

I knew I had to make some changes. First and foremost I eliminated soda, although I do allow myself a cheat day on Sundays. I also jump started my metabolism by eating more often throughout the course of the day, and I try very hard to eat clean and healthy.

I now take The Athletic Club of Overland Park group fitness classes six days out of the week. I was reluctant at first because I knew that I would get pushed to work out harder than I do on my own. Fitness manager Trish Scott and group fitness instructor Jennifer were relentless when they would see me at the Club, prodding me to take their respective Overland Park group fitness classes.

I like to work out over my lunch hour and I started taking group fitness classes regularly. For the first time in my adult life I started to see positive results, albeit slowly. I lost a few pounds here and there and I was able to tone and tighten my physique. Today, I’m down 52 pounds from where I started, and proudly maintaining that weight, which for me is the most exciting part! Perhaps the best benefit is that physically I feel great.

I would recommend The Athletic Club to anyone. The instructors are great, the staff is professional and friendly, and the facility itself offers everything that I need to stay physically fit.
